Cars in the Park 2014 Evangelism Report

On Sunday May 18, 2014, we started early on this winter’s morning arriving at Alexandra Park at about 07H00 to set up and preach the Gospel of Yeshua Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ. Initially I was joined by Jono Anderson who handed out Gospel tracts, literature and booklets as the crowds grew during the course of the morning.

This year we were surprised to see a large contingent of the organisers / staff were blatantly and openly wearing caps and other clothing depicting the Free Masonry symbol of the “Architect’s Compass and Square”. This organization has always been a secretive society cloaked in oaths, but it seems now that they blatantly show themselves as a “benevolent” society. However, with the internet and worldwide media giving information at the hit of a button, it is no secret of the goings-on of the members of Free Mason lodges. Well the Bible does reveal that Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light and his ministers also transformed as the ministers of righteousness, as we read:

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

We should also remember that within the Free Mason lodges, all religions are accepted, but you cannot speak in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. So from the outside they take on the look of “ministers of righteousness”, but they are deceivers. It was also manifested here at this daylong evangelising mission that they did not take any Gospel material; well from my own experience of trying to hand them some, and at Gate 4 the “members” laughed and heckled the preaching of the Gospel of God!

About midday I was joined by Brother Rory Burns. We were also joined by our Church elder Brother Dave Webster for a while who had to attend another engagement. It was a blessed time preaching to lines of people gathering to enter the Cars in the Park viewing arena.

We pray that all those who received Gospel literature, who had conversations and those who came under the sounding of the preaching of God’s Word, that they were convicted by the Holy Spirit “of sin, and of righteousness and of judgment” (see John 16:8).

As the providence of God has it, on the next day, Monday May 19, 2014, I was able to share the Law and the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua Messiah with a great-granddad of one of the grade one children who was at soccer training with my grandson. The man named Fred, who is in his seventies, is living in adultery with a woman that was previously married to a Free Mason. Fred, left his wife after she gave him an ultimatum fifteen-years ago to decide on staying faithful to her or leave to be with his mistress. Please keep this man named Fred in prayer that he will have his “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (see Acts 20:21). I implored him to get out of the relationship with his mistress and be reconciled to his wife if she will take him back and also get out of Free Masonry! Before he drove off I managed to get some Gospel material from my car and hand it to him.

Nothing happens by chance. Please pray for Fred’s salvation!

Cars in the Park 2014 Evangelism

On Sunday May 18, 2014, Cars In The Park 2014 will be hosted by the Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC) in Alexandra Park Pietermaritzburg where all car-enthusiasts will come to display their classic, vintage, muscle and modern suped-up cars.

“There are over 1000 exhibits ranging from KZN’s oldest car, a 1904 Cadillac, to the very latest. Marquee clubs usually turn out in full force and you are able to view classic MGs, Triumphs, Alfas, Jaguars and Ferraris in an attractive park like setting. Industrial and farm machinery is also on display along with classic and vintage motorcycles plus a unique Stanley Steamer.” ~ quote from SA-Venues.com website.

This is also an opportunity to “Go” and spend a day preaching the Person of Yeshua Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ to the crowds! Cars in the Park 2013 Report

On Sunday May 19, 2013, by the grace of God through faith brethren Gary, Lungisa, Nhlanhla, and Jono together with three other young African men were able to hand out many Gospel tracts. Some conversations were had and our Lord Jesus Christ’s Name was heralded and lifted up! Praise be to God alone!

After the preaching of Christ and Him crucified, Gary had a conversation with a Mohammedan named Nadeem who approached him about what we were doing and then he did not want to use the Bible or the Quran in our discussions, but wanted us to relate and speak on “common ground”. I however quoted from the only Holy Scriptures, the Bible, and he did not want me to refer to it. He was also offended that I was quoting the history of his false prophet Mohammed and showing him that he was not a prophet recognised by the early believers – the Jews and Christians – of the first century as he was not recorded in the Scriptures of God! I also dealt with the issue that Mohammed’s Islam came around 570 A.D. after Jesus Christ had already ascended into heaven and what Mohammed quotes in the Quran contradicts what has gone before as God spoke through the true prophets pertaining to Jesus’ Sonship and death, burial, resurrection and ascension, as well as where the Quran speaks that Muslims are to honour the men of the Book (Jews and Christians) and then it contradicts itself and says wherever Jews and Christians are found they are to be killed. Whilst this man wanted to take this conversation further on another day he however said that he had given us half-an-hour of his time as if we were to be thankful for him giving us his time! He really did not want to deal with the real issues on the day. Nadeem will remain an antichrist as will all of Islam as Scripture speaks:

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

2 John 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

We do however pray that God will draw him and many others to repentance (Romans 2:4) and faith through the Holy Spirit of God!

Cars in the Park 2013 Evangelism

Cars in the Park 2012

Headed out to Alexandra Park in Pietermaritzburg to the annual Cars in the Park event to hand out Gospel Tracts, engage people in one-2-one conversations and to lift up the Name of Jesus Christ in the public arena. Please keep a car-guard by the name of Wilfred in prayer who received the Gospel of Jesus Christ and asked that I contact him to share the Good News with his friends and family at his home in Unit 13 Imbali. We will make arrangements to call on his home soon. Also had a very thought-provoking conversation with a Chubb Alarms officer named Clive – please remember him in prayer, too. He told me that he has had three near death experiences. I challenged him that it is possible God wants him to hear this message. Please also keep the Muslim garage attendant handing out pamphlets in prayer – he heard the Truth!

I was later joined by Jono Anderson who brought some more Gospel tracts just as I started to run out. This day was all to the Glory of God. Great and merciful is our Living God – YHVH!

Cars In The Park

This past Sunday May 17, I ventured to this annual event that takes place literally on my doorstep in Pietermaritzburg. In the past I, too, went to this event to socialise and satisfy my flesh, but now I see this event through new eyes — through the eyes of an evangelist. This is an evangelism opportunity for the drawn crowds.

Welcome to Cars in the Park 2009. Today, as with any other day, you have decided to exercise your freedom and to decide how you will spend this day. You might have risen later than normal today and planned this outing on the ‘spur of the moment’, or today might have been planned by you well in advance. But, how free are you really? Do you really have true freedom? The Bible says that you are a slave to sin … so how can you think you are free indeed?

Today there is also judging that will take place to determine which automobiles will be judged to receive the first, the second and the third prizes. (please read the reverse side …)

However, there is another Judgment Day that has been set aside in the future when Almighty God will judge each and every person with a perfect Law which will not grade people on a slide rule. People tend to think about everything else including attending a ‘Cars in the Park’ event than giving thought about their eternal destiny. Reality is 150 000 people die every 24 hours and if today you had to die as a slave of your sins where do you think you would spend eternity? Will you be good enough for God to let you into Heaven? Most people profess to be good, but by what standard are they basing their goodness on? What about you? To truly see if you are a good person you must use a more perfect standard to judge yourself by looking into the perfect moral Law of Almighty God. This Law is the Ten Commandments. Here goes … How many lies have you told in your life? Half-truths, fibs, white lies? A lie is a lie and by definition God sees you as a liar. Stolen something? The size or value of the object matters not, and time does not excuse the crime. God sees you as a thief. Jesus said in old times it was said do not commit adultery, but I tell you whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28). Ever looked with lust? Had sexual thoughts in your mind? Indulged in fornication (had sex outside the bounds of marriage)? Homosexuality? Porn? If this is you, God will judge you as an adulterer. Ever committed murder? God’s Word says hating someone is murder (1 John 3:15). Abortion is also the murder of unborn children. Ever used God or His Son Jesus’ name to show surprise or disgust? Like, “Oh my G-D!!” This is blasphemy and it is a serious offense in the sight of God. God also says you shall have no other gods (idols) before Him. Are you guilty of idolatry? Maybe your car is your object of worship! Or do you covet (crave) other peoples’ possessions? That is greed. If you have answered “yes” to any of these violations then God sees you as a liar, a thief, an adulterer, a murderer, a blasphemer, an idolater and a coveter. If God finds you guilty and judges you for every crime you have committed against Him, as He sees your every thought, intention of the heart, every word uttered and every deed done, even those in secret, and He gives you the justice you rightfully deserve on the Day of Judgment (Acts 17:31) as a lawbreaker, then will you go to Heaven or Hell? Any person in their right mind will know that breaking the Law demands a payment and God has assigned a place called Hell as His prison for vile sinners who have transgressed His Holy Law. That is the bad news. The Good News (The Gospel) is that God is so kind and merciful that He expressed His grace and love to sinners by choosing to reveal Himself in the person of His Son Jesus Christ. Fully God and fully Man and without sin, Jesus gave us the divine standard by which we are to live. He lay down His life for sinners and went to the cross to be punished by God’s righteous wrath. You broke God’s Law and Jesus took your punishment. Your life on earth is not a game to be played by your rules. God’s precious Son Jesus took your filthy sin upon Himself and made unmerited payment with His Holy blood. He died in your place as a curse when you deserve Hell. He resurrected to life defeating death and sin. God saves by offering free Grace so no man can boast. You are not good. God is so Good to want to save evil and wicked sinners from eternal damnation. God commands righteousness, not happiness. He commands holy living. Repent before God’s throne and put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ by faith alone while you still have time. Jesus is the only way to be forgiven your sins (John 14:6). Without the Lamb of God Jesus’ precious blood your sins cannot be forgiven and you are damned.

The crowds were large this day, and if you have viewed this blog it is most probably because you were handed the above Gospel tract. Please do consider your eternal destiny. Cry out to God for His mercy upon your soul if you are not yet reconciled to Him.

These young persons are (l to r) Sarah, Ishmael, Donovan and Jason who travelled all the way from Johannesburg to attend the show — and they also received the preaching of the Law and the Gospel. The tract can be seen in their hands.

To each and every person who received a tract and was taken through the Good Person Test or engaged in conversation; God knows who you are and His children around the world are praying for your souls.
