Evangelism at the United vs Chiefs Match 2016/17

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ~ Philippians 2:9-11

Kaizer Chiefs This belated praise report is solely for GOD’s glory alone and that no attention be directed our-way! “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). On the evening of Saturday 11th February 2017, Jono and Gary attended at the PSL football match between Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs, the Amakhozi, that took place at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Prior to the evening preaching which was limited to Gospel tract distribution as a severe thunderstorm was brewing, we had been in Church Street in the Pietermaritzburg CBD during the afternoon putting the sound system through its paces with the preaching of the Gospel of GOD. Much literature was also given out then. Later in the evening, as fore-stated whilst the thunderstorm brewed and lightening was all about and the wind picked up, it appeared many spectators had not made preparation and had come unprepared for the heavy downpour that would follow. The simple message that was given out with the literature is that eternity is approaching each and every person and yet no preparation is given “to meet thy God” as we are reminded in Scripture,

11  I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
12  Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13  For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name. ~ Amos 4:11-13

Free State StarsThen on the Sunday afternoon of 26th February 2017 when Maritzburg United entertained Free State Stars at home we did not go out to evangelise at the match.

However, we do request that you kindly keep us in prayer for our next PSL football outreach, Lord willing, at the Harry Gwala Stadium’s North Gate, being on Saturday evening the 1st April, 2017 from about 18:00 – 20:15

“My friends are dying and, though they be alive, they are dead men walking!”

Pirates FC 1986 Natal League Cup winners Pirates F.C. ~ Natal League Cup Winners 1986

Dear friend,

This is a clarion call trumpeted to all who have an ear to hear. This cry out is pertinent at this most urgent time we live in. The heading at the top reads, “My friends are dying and, though they be alive, they are dead men walking!” From the day we are born into this world, we are born to die. Some die at a young age, others die at an older more mature age, but death is most assuredly guaranteed – death is but a breath away. Do you know when you will die? Do you know you have an appointment with death? And the day that you die will be the most important day of your existence. In GOD’s Holy Word, The Bible, we read of the warning, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27).

Friend, we all have an appointment we have to keep. There is no way that the appointment scheduled by GOD will ever be cancelled. Whether you believe it or not, you have a date with eternity and based on how you lived in this life will ultimately determine where you are headed. You are not guaranteed the next minute, you are not guaranteed the next hour, day, week, month or year. You are but a breath away from meeting your Creator. In this life there is death all around, and your life in your soul could be demanded or taken from you in the blink of an eye. Then what? Where are you headed come Judgment Day? There are only two ways in life as Jesus Christ said, “13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:13,14). Are you going to be counted amongst the “few”? Or are you on the super highway, the way which is broad that leads to hell and destruction? Your lifestyle determines the way you are on! So are you headed for hell? Then you need to make a U-Turn and fast. But do carry on reading this warning. And if you are a Christian, you too continue on reading so you can examine yourself, for we are exhorted, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” (2 Corinthians 13:5).

Friend, I am sure you can relate to this. You know of either a family member or a friend or a celebrity or a sportsman who has died recently and passed on into eternity. Some have hopefully died with a living hope, whilst others have sadly and tragically died with no hope at all and are damned for all eternity. It is for this very reason I come to you my friend, in love, with this most urgent message concerning: “My friends are dying and, though they be alive, they are dead men walking!”

Bill Shankly

Bill Shankly, a Liverpool manager on Merseyside from 1959–1974 is quoted as saying: “Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.” Well, the socialist William “Bill” Shankly came to realise on Tuesday 29th September 1981 at the age of 68 when he passed into eternity that football is not “much, much more important” than life and death, when he died of a heart attack. The front page headline of the Liverpool Echo newspaper simply read: SHANKLY IS DEAD. It recorded the official Broadgreen Hospital statement: “Mr Shankly suffered a cardiac arrest at 00.30 am and was certified dead at 01.20. Shanks had been battling for life since he suffered a heart attack early on Saturday shanksfuneralspt81 morning. He had been making good progress until his condition deteriorated yesterday morning and he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. His wife Nessie was by his side when he died.”

Dear friend, how will your epithet read one day when you pass from this life into eternity? Will you be remembered as having lived with a hope through being born-again? Or, will you be remembered as having wasted your life, been a spiritually dead man walking who is damned for all eternity? GOD’s Word tells us in advance that Jesus said, “3Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. … 5Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” (John 3:3,5-7)

So how does one be born again? At the outset, you are not ‘good enough’ in your own stead to receive GOD’s pardon come Judgment Day, if you are walking after the flesh and not the Spirit of GOD! Here, take a quick test using GOD’s perfect and righteous Law, The Ten Commandments (see Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 5:6-21) to see your plight when you have to give an account before the great white throne judgment seat of Christ – How many lies have you told in your life time? If you have told but just one lie you are a liar. Have you stolen anything – irrespective of the size or value of the object, including piracy of music CDs and film DVDs? If you have, that would render you as a thief. Have you looked at a person with lust of the heart – either in acts of heterosexual and/or homosexual lust? Jesus calls that adultery of the heart (see Matthew 5:27-30)! Or maybe idolatry is your violation of GOD’s Law. Idolatry is not only in a religion of idol worship, but idolatry can be a love of money, material possessions, sex, drugs, music, etc or maybe it is football players and teams which are your idols. For many years Liverpool Football Club, its players and the game of football in general was a deep-rooted idol in my life until I came to repentance and GOD delivered me from this idolatry. GOD sees all, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” (Proverb 15:3). “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4).

GOD being good, perfect, righteous and holy therefore has a good, perfect, righteous and holy standard! Judging by GOD’s standard, any person breaking HIS commands would leave that person guilty of breaking GOD’s Law and therefore GOD must punish their sin! Scripture reads, “12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:12-15)

Dear friend, if you have violated GOD’s commandments that would leave you guilty before the Judge of the Universe. We all must appear before GOD, as we read, “13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13,14)

You have heard that old cliché: “You do the crime, you do the time.” Well, GOD will punish all sin wherever it is found, and so, if you are found to have transgressed GOD’s Law and is found to be a lying thief, an adulterer at heart, and an idolater (just to mention a few violations of GOD’s Law) then you are guilty as a criminal who should do the time! And GOD’s place of punishment is hell as a holding cell until Judgment Day which results in an eternal sentencing into the lake of fire as mentioned in Revelation 20:12-15 here-above.

Whilst “God is angry with the wicked every day” (Psalm 7:11b), GOD is also merciful and gracious. GOD is love (1 John 4:8,16) and HE shows HIS love by making a way for wretched sinners to be saved from HIS wrath, and reconciled back to HIMSELF, “16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” (John 3:16-21)

As can be seen that the salvation of GOD is obtained through HIS Son Jesus Christ and not through the thousands upon thousands of man-made religious practices, customs and traditions. Man worships his plethora of idolatrous gods through his man-made cultic religions such as Roman Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, the ZCC, the TACC, Shembe Nazarenes, Seventh-Day Adventism, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormonism, the 38,000+ “ecumenical Protestantism denominations” (the Papacy’s harlot daughters) that have little unity in their doctrines and teachings, and atheism which is a religion of worshipping and serving the creation and not the Creator, as we read, “20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” (Romans 1:20-25)

Yeshua haMessiach, the Lord Jesus Christ, said He is the ONLY WAY to GOD the Father when, Jesus said, “6I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” (John 14:6,7). The prophecies of old that were prophesied by the prophets in the Old Testament concerning the Saviour came to pass as YEHOVAH (YHVH), the One and Only True and Living GOD, ordained it to be. GOD confirmed through the prophet Isaiah, “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us” (Isaiah 33:22). In the Historical account when Mary was pregnant with the baby Jesus, she said, “46My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour” (Luke 1:46,47). Jesus confirmed, “56Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” (John 8:56-58). Jesus Christ being the manifest GOD in flesh is the Saviour of the world.

All the memories, the accolades, medals and trophies, degrees and the like that you have accumulated through-out your life are worthless and cannot save you, “36For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36,37). You need a living Saviour to save your soul. For Christ suffered in our place taking the wrath of GOD upon Himself, as we read, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” (1 Peter 3:18). Today, while it is still today, find peace with GOD through repentance and faith by calling upon Jesus Christ, for this is your only hope. If you reject the Lord Jesus Christ, you reject GOD at your own peril! “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38)

Whilst the “You’ll Never Walk Alone” song [see Footnote], made famous by Gerry and the Pacemakers, is synonymous with Liverpool Football Club fans, the song is an anthem of hope, but for every Christian true Hope is found in the lyrics of Psalm 23: A Psalm of David,

1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (Psalm 23:1-6)

Soli Deo Gloria

When you walk through a storm

Hold your head up high

And don’t be afraid of the dark

At the end of a storm

There’s a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark

Walk on through the wind

Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on, walk on

With hope in your heart

And you’ll never walk alone

You’ll never walk alone

Walk on, walk on

With hope in your heart

And you’ll never walk alone

You’ll never walk alone

Introduction

Human Rights Day is celebrated as a public holiday in South Africa each year on March 21. As part of this introduction an extensive quote that appears at the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa’s website[1] is quoted here to record what the government regards as human rights, quote:

What are human rights?

Human rights are rights that everyone should have simply because they are human. In 1948, the United Nations defined 30 articles of human rights in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It established universal human rights on the basis of humanity, freedom, justice, and peace.

South Africa has included indivisible human rights in our own Bill of Rights, Chapter 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996. The articles of our Constitution can only be changed by a two-thirds majority in Parliament, which means it is difficult for anyone, including the government, to take away the basic rights of a citizen.

The Bill of Rights preserved in our Constitution is the cornerstone of our constitutional and representative democracy. The Constitution as our supreme law means that no laws may be passed that goes against it. The Bill of Rights also comprehensively addresses South Africa’s history of oppression, colonialism, slavery, racism and sexism and other forms of human violations. The Bill of Rights embeds the rights of all people in our country in an enduring affirmation of the democratic values of human dignity, equality and freedom.

Human Rights Day, 21 March

Human Rights Day in South Africa is historically linked with 21 March 1960, and the events of Sharpeville. On that day 69 people died and 180 were wounded when police fired on a peaceful crowd that had gathered in protest against the Pass laws. This day marked an affirmation by ordinary people, rising in unison to proclaim their rights. It became an iconic date in our country’s history that today we commemorate as Human Rights Day as a reminder of our rights and the cost paid for our treasured human rights. [. . .]

Modern era

When South Africa held its first democratic election, with Nelson Mandela elected as its first democratic President, 21 March, Human Rights Day was officially proclaimed a public holiday.

On Human Rights Day, South Africans are asked to reflect on their rights, to protect their rights and the rights of all people from violation, irrespective of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, whether they are foreign national or not – human rights apply to everyone, equally.

We must remain vigilant and report abuse and cruelty, such as human trafficking, child labour, forced labour and violence against women, children, and the aged and other vulnerable groupings of people.

What are your rights?

In terms of the Bill of Rights everyone has a right to life, equality and human dignity.

•All persons have a right to citizenship and security. Persons and groups are entitled to freedom of assembly, association, belief and opinion, and expression. They have the right to demonstrate, picket and petition; everyone has the right to be free from forced labour, servitude and slavery.

•All persons have a right to privacy and to exercise political rights; all have a right to access to information and just administration action. They have rights when arrested, detained and accused, and must have access to courts.

•All have a right to freedom of movement and residence and of trade, occupation and profession. In the workplace everyone has a right to engage in trade unions and labour movements. Anyone has the right to purchase property anywhere, and to a basic education. They have a right to language and culture and communities; and not least, freedom of religion and belief. The Bill of Rights also specifies the rights of persons belonging to cultural, religious or linguistic communities and the rights of children. In addition, there are specific laws to safeguard women and protect children.

•Protected rights include a healthy environment; housing, health care, food, water and social security.

Parliament’s Role in Human Rights Day

Parliament is guided by the values and principles of the Constitution. The tasks of Parliament are to represent and empower the people, and to facilitate meaningful and active involvement of civil society in its processes. The Constitutional functions of Parliament are to pass laws and oversee executive action. Parliament must ensure that democratic processes become well-known and that they reach all citizens of the country and that the civil liberties of every citizen is maintained.

According to the foregoing manifesto, are all treated equally when it comes to human rights? We will look at what transpires everyday in violation of rights of the citizens of South Africa and see that man-made laws or rights are in constant violation of the Creator GOD’s sovereign Law, statutes and decrees.

Abortions

clip_image002[4]We are told that every person has the right to life, yet abortions (which are the murder of unborn children) are practiced in hospitals and back street allies at the expense of taxpayers’ money and in ‘illegal’ abortuaries, respectively, where they who have no voice are butchered by evil and wicked executioners including the child’s murderous mother who is exercising ‘pro-choice’! Where are the rights for the unborn child who would want ‘pro-life’? Why punish the child for the sins of the parents? Children are a gift from the Creator, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” (Psalm 127:3-5).

Murders

Whilst 69 people lost their lives at Sharpeville through the wicked hearts of NP Apartheid forces, it is no different to the thousands who lost their lives through the ANC’s MK terrorist attacks upon soft civilian targets in the years that followed. How many of these dead were unrepentant sinners that were ushered into hell for all eternity by evil and wicked barbarous executioners? The total deaths due to political violence during the Apartheid years from 1948-1994, according to the Human Rights Committee (HRC) statistics, totalled 21,000 political deaths – of whom 14,000 people died during the six-year transition process from 1990 to 1994. Further analyses of the period June 1990 to July 1993 indicates a total of 8,580 (92%) of the 9,325 violent deaths were caused by Africans killing Africans, or as the news media often calls it, “Black on Black” violence. However, the security forces caused 518 deaths (5.6%) throughout this period.[2] The SA Police statistics for 1994-2000 record violent hate crimes especially against white Boers at 174,220. The murder statistics from 2005-2016 total 211,161.[3] [Unable to obtain statistics for the period 2001-2004 ~ Ed]

South_African_murder_rate Graph of South Africa’s murder rate (murders per 100,000 people) over a 100 year period from 1915 to 2015. The murder rate increased rapidly in the 1980s reaching its peak in 1993 then decreasing until bottoming out in 2011.[4]

Where are the rights of the citizens of South Africa who were butchered and had their lives taken when they had the right to life? GOD’s Holy Word tells us, no murderer shall see the kingdom of GOD, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8).

The ANC government has failed GOD and the citizens of South Africa, for we are told, “And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” (Daniel 2:21). We also read, “But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” (Psalm 75:7). The government of the day has a responsibility before GOD to safeguard its citizens for we read, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.” (Romans 13:1-5).

Religion, Beliefs and Homosexuality

In the manifesto of human rights, the citizens are safeguarded “to protect their rights and the rights of all people from violation, irrespective of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, whether they are foreign national or not – human rights apply to everyone, equally.” However, everyone is not equal before the law when it comes to Christianity and homosexuals. The wicked practice of homosexuality takes preference over the conscience and beliefs of Christians when GOD’s Word commands and states that, “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” (Leviticus 20:13).

Gay Pride

GOD says that He hands homosexuals over, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” (Romans 1:26,27).

Yet if a Christian stands by their belief, convictions and conscience to warn a sodomite of GOD’s judgment and eternal justice in the lake of fire, or refuses to offer a service to a GOD-hating lawbreaker, then the Christian is persecuted for standing for Truth in righteousness to please his/her GOD. A stern warning, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! (Isaiah 5:20-23).

Conclusion

As can be seen from this tract, not everyone is treated equally with human rights. Some have more rights than others and we have not even looked at the vices that permeate our community spaces where we are bombarded with immodest dress that borders on public nudity, vulgarity and profanity, pornography, prostitution, xenophobia, drugs and alcohol abuse, occultism and witchcraft, and ancestral and idol worship that are all in violation of GOD’s Ten Commandments. We are reminded, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27) that GOD must judge according to His Holy and Righteous standard, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans 6:16). For, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” (1 John 3:8-10). To be truly set free from one’s sins, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. … If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:32,36). Today, REPENT and call upon the name of Jesus Christ to save you and give you peace with GOD. That is your only hope!
