Human Rights Day 2015

IMG-20150321-00497 On Saturday March 21, 2015 was the South African public holiday known as “Human Rights Day.” It was also a day on which the funeral of Mrs Gwala, the widow of the first mayor, the late Mr Gwala, of the Msunduzi Municipality post 1994, was taking place inside the Pietermaritzburg City Hall. There were some politicians, chauffeurs, mourners and SAPS / Traffic Law Enforcement officers standing about when a message was preached from Isaiah 5:20 ~

20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Please listen to the message calling men and women to repentance toward God and faith toward our LInternet Archiveord Jesus Christ (see Acts 20:21). A photo-journalist also came across the street and spoke briefly to brother Jono Anderson who was handing out some Gospel literature, before he started taking some photographs of the preaching. You can hear a discussion Gary had briefly with Fraser Mnchali at the conclusion of the preaching. Kindly  press the logo to the right for the audio of the open-air preaching session >>> or HERE.

Soli Deo Gloria!

The Charismatic Catastrophe

Examine and test all things. Fight! Contend! Do Battle! When apostasy arises, when false teachers emerge, when the Truth of God is attacked, it is time to fight for the faith!

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Farmers’ Market and the PSL kicks off

On Saturday morning August 3, 2013 I was asked to attend at the Farmers’ Market next to the Harry Gwala Stadium to see brother Ed White and an opportunity was taken at about 08H30 to raise the name of our Lord Jesus Christ calling for people to examine their lives in light of eternity. The portion of Scripture was Mark 10:46-52, which reads as follows:

Mark 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

Mark 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

Mark 10:48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

Mark 10:49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

Mark 10:50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

Mark 10:51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

Mark 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

The following was put to them that they “might be like Bartimaeus sitting on the road side begging, blind to the things of God and you need to have a relationship with this one true God that has come past your way today [heckling chuckling in the video]; it is in His Word that He comes to you today to call you to repentance and faith in Him …”. Here is the video – please excuse the shaking as I held the camera whilst preaching. It ends with a wonderful testimony by a man named Ted (mustard coloured jacket) who testifies to being healed of cancer. Praise God!

Later the same day outside the Harry Gwala Stadium at around 19H30 in the evening I raised the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to the spectators attending the opening soccer match of the new PSL 2013/14 season between Maritzburg United and Polokwane City. Had the pleasure of some white-mockers blow their vuvuzelas [irritating plastic blow horns] at the mention of hell and the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and speak foolishly against the preaching of the Gospel. I also had an inebriated Indian breath his intoxicating brandy-breath into my face on a few occasions and tell me that ‘his jesus’ loves him as he is, and he was really offended when I corrected him that the true Lord Jesus Christ hates his drunkenness as revealed in the Holy Bible that no drunkards shall inherit the kingdom of God (see 1 Corinthians 6:10). Even in his angry drunken stupor he still wanted to hug me later – what foolishness!

Also warned about certain football (soccer) stadium tragedies where spectators lost their lives like, Heysel Stadium in 1985 (Liverpool vs. Juventus), the 1989 Hillsborough disaster (Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest) and the Ellis Park stampede in 2001 between supporters of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. People went out to enjoy themselves, but some lost their lives. What if it was you?

Royal Agricultural Show 2013 ~ Days 1 to 3

Over the course of the first three days of the Royal Agricultural Show the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was heralded boldly to all with an ear to hear. It was by God’s grace and the leading of His Holy Spirit that we spoke as God gave utterance, glorifying Himself.

On day two Saturday May 25th an attempt by a security company tried to get us to leave from preaching our Lord Jesus Christ on a public sidewalk where they have no jurisdiction. We stood firm and even by ourselves approached and consulted with a SAPS officer that we had rights to stand where we were and exercise those rights to freedom of movement, speech and religion. While we still enjoy these “freedoms” we need to preach continually, knowing also that obedience to God comes first!

communityaudioRepent and Believe South Africa. The security tried to “run-off” Gary from a public municipal walkway that was not infringing on the Royal Agricultural Show (RAS) 2013 property in Pietermaritzburg on the 2nd day. The reason – The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We approached a SAPS Law Enforcement Officer and we were able to remain where we were stationed by the Grace of God. Praise the LORD!

We also enjoyed fellowship and labour with a group of brethren from Ghana, whilst Phillip has laboured with us before:

On the Sunday May 26th whilst preaching we had some wicked men show their disgust for the Gospel – one blaming God for the genocide of Jews by the Nazi Germans during World War II and another man throwing over our “Are You Ready” Cross to the ground. Scripture speaks of them:

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Cars in the Park 2013 Report

DSCF2387On Sunday May 19, 2013, by the grace of God through faith brethren Gary, Lungisa, Nhlanhla, and Jono together with three other young African men were able to hand out many Gospel tracts. Some conversations were had and our Lord Jesus Christ’s Name was heralded and lifted up! Praise be to God alone!

Here are four parts of the heralding of the Gospel:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

After the preaching of Christ and Him crucified, Gary had a conversation with a Mohammedan named Nadeem who approached him about what we were doing and then he did not want to use the Bible or the Quran in our discussions, but wanted us to relate and speak on “common ground”. I however quoted from the only Holy Scriptures, the Bible, and he did not want me to refer to it. He was also offended that I was quoting the history of his false prophet Mohammed and showing him that he was not a prophet recognised by the early believers – the Jews and Christians – of the first century as he was not recorded in the Scriptures of God! I also dealt with the issue that Mohammed’s Islam came around 570 A.D. after Jesus Christ had already ascended into heaven and what Mohammed quotes in the Quran contradicts what has gone before as God spoke through the true prophets pertaining to Jesus’ Sonship and death, burial, resurrection and ascension, as well as where the Quran speaks that Muslims are to honour the men of the Book (Jews and Christians) and then it contradicts itself and says wherever Jews and Christians are found they are to be killed. Whilst this man wanted to take this conversation further on another day he however said that he had given us half-an-hour of his time as if we were to be thankful for him giving us his time! He really did not want to deal with the real issues on the day. Nadeem will remain an antichrist as will all of Islam as Scripture speaks:

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

2 John 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

We do however pray that God will draw him and many others to repentance (Romans 2:4) and faith through the Holy Spirit of God!

Here are some photographs from the day, including some  vehicles on display, after it became FREE entry at about 15H30:
