Human Rights Day 2015

IMG-20150321-00497 On Saturday March 21, 2015 was the South African public holiday known as “Human Rights Day.” It was also a day on which the funeral of Mrs Gwala, the widow of the first mayor, the late Mr Gwala, of the Msunduzi Municipality post 1994, was taking place inside the Pietermaritzburg City Hall. There were some politicians, chauffeurs, mourners and SAPS / Traffic Law Enforcement officers standing about when a message was preached from Isaiah 5:20 ~

20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Please listen to the message calling men and women to repentance toward God and faith toward our LInternet Archiveord Jesus Christ (see Acts 20:21). A photo-journalist also came across the street and spoke briefly to brother Jono Anderson who was handing out some Gospel literature, before he started taking some photographs of the preaching. You can hear a discussion Gary had briefly with Fraser Mnchali at the conclusion of the preaching. Kindly  press the logo to the right for the audio of the open-air preaching session >>> or HERE.

Soli Deo Gloria!

The Charismatic Catastrophe

Examine and test all things. Fight! Contend! Do Battle! When apostasy arises, when false teachers emerge, when the Truth of God is attacked, it is time to fight for the faith!

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Farmers’ Market and the PSL kicks off

On Saturday morning August 3, 2013 I was asked to attend at the Farmers’ Market next to the Harry Gwala Stadium to see brother Ed White and an opportunity was taken at about 08H30 to raise the name of our Lord Jesus Christ calling for people to examine their lives in light of eternity. The portion of Scripture was Mark 10:46-52, which reads as follows:

Mark 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

Mark 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

Mark 10:48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

Mark 10:49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

Mark 10:50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

Mark 10:51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

Mark 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

The following was put to them that they “might be like Bartimaeus sitting on the road side begging, blind to the things of God and you need to have a relationship with this one true God that has come past your way today [heckling chuckling in the video]; it is in His Word that He comes to you today to call you to repentance and faith in Him …”. Here is the video – please excuse the shaking as I held the camera whilst preaching. It ends with a wonderful testimony by a man named Ted (mustard coloured jacket) who testifies to being healed of cancer. Praise God!

Later the same day outside the Harry Gwala Stadium at around 19H30 in the evening I raised the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to the spectators attending the opening soccer match of the new PSL 2013/14 season between Maritzburg United and Polokwane City. Had the pleasure of some white-mockers blow their vuvuzelas [irritating plastic blow horns] at the mention of hell and the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and speak foolishly against the preaching of the Gospel. I also had an inebriated Indian breath his intoxicating brandy-breath into my face on a few occasions and tell me that ‘his jesus’ loves him as he is, and he was really offended when I corrected him that the true Lord Jesus Christ hates his drunkenness as revealed in the Holy Bible that no drunkards shall inherit the kingdom of God (see 1 Corinthians 6:10). Even in his angry drunken stupor he still wanted to hug me later – what foolishness!

Also warned about certain football (soccer) stadium tragedies where spectators lost their lives like, Heysel Stadium in 1985 (Liverpool vs. Juventus), the 1989 Hillsborough disaster (Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest) and the Ellis Park stampede in 2001 between supporters of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. People went out to enjoy themselves, but some lost their lives. What if it was you?

Royal Agricultural Show 2013 ~ Days 1 to 3

Over the course of the first three days of the Royal Agricultural Show the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was heralded boldly to all with an ear to hear. It was by God’s grace and the leading of His Holy Spirit that we spoke as God gave utterance, glorifying Himself.

On day two Saturday May 25th an attempt by a security company tried to get us to leave from preaching our Lord Jesus Christ on a public sidewalk where they have no jurisdiction. We stood firm and even by ourselves approached and consulted with a SAPS officer that we had rights to stand where we were and exercise those rights to freedom of movement, speech and religion. While we still enjoy these “freedoms” we need to preach continually, knowing also that obedience to God comes first!

communityaudioRepent and Believe South Africa. The security tried to “run-off” Gary from a public municipal walkway that was not infringing on the Royal Agricultural Show (RAS) 2013 property in Pietermaritzburg on the 2nd day. The reason – The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We approached a SAPS Law Enforcement Officer and we were able to remain where we were stationed by the Grace of God. Praise the LORD!

We also enjoyed fellowship and labour with a group of brethren from Ghana, whilst Phillip has laboured with us before:

On the Sunday May 26th whilst preaching we had some wicked men show their disgust for the Gospel – one blaming God for the genocide of Jews by the Nazi Germans during World War II and another man throwing over our “Are You Ready” Cross to the ground. Scripture speaks of them:

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Cars in the Park 2013 Report

DSCF2387On Sunday May 19, 2013, by the grace of God through faith brethren Gary, Lungisa, Nhlanhla, and Jono together with three other young African men were able to hand out many Gospel tracts. Some conversations were had and our Lord Jesus Christ’s Name was heralded and lifted up! Praise be to God alone!

Here are four parts of the heralding of the Gospel:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

After the preaching of Christ and Him crucified, Gary had a conversation with a Mohammedan named Nadeem who approached him about what we were doing and then he did not want to use the Bible or the Quran in our discussions, but wanted us to relate and speak on “common ground”. I however quoted from the only Holy Scriptures, the Bible, and he did not want me to refer to it. He was also offended that I was quoting the history of his false prophet Mohammed and showing him that he was not a prophet recognised by the early believers – the Jews and Christians – of the first century as he was not recorded in the Scriptures of God! I also dealt with the issue that Mohammed’s Islam came around 570 A.D. after Jesus Christ had already ascended into heaven and what Mohammed quotes in the Quran contradicts what has gone before as God spoke through the true prophets pertaining to Jesus’ Sonship and death, burial, resurrection and ascension, as well as where the Quran speaks that Muslims are to honour the men of the Book (Jews and Christians) and then it contradicts itself and says wherever Jews and Christians are found they are to be killed. Whilst this man wanted to take this conversation further on another day he however said that he had given us half-an-hour of his time as if we were to be thankful for him giving us his time! He really did not want to deal with the real issues on the day. Nadeem will remain an antichrist as will all of Islam as Scripture speaks:

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

2 John 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

We do however pray that God will draw him and many others to repentance (Romans 2:4) and faith through the Holy Spirit of God!

Evangelism at Maritzburg College vs. KES

DSCF2371On Saturday May 18, 2013, Maritzburg College hosted a “Breast Cancer” awareness day (pink socks worn by the players) during their Premier Interschool rugby encounter with King Edward VII School (KES) from Johannesburg.

Lungisa and I found ourselves being lead of the Holy Spirit and attending at this event to hand out Gospel tracts, booklets and to engage school boys and girls in witnessing encounters with the Holiness of Almighty God through the Law and Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Cross carrying at CollegeWhilst we were able to enter the grounds unhindered past security carrying the “ARE YOU READY” Cross, and we were also able to share the Good News with a host of scholars near the “Tuck-shop” and on the grass banks, we however were confronted by the College Estate Manager named Mr Ken Hackland that said “I must ask you to refrain from doing this!” This incidentally was after the featured televised match between the 1st XV’s had commenced and we were standing around speaking to another brother-in-Christ named Roger. Mr Hackland advised me that there were complaints to him and that people – including some of “other faiths” – were offended by what we were doing. However, we never received any objections whilst we walked around sharing Christ and giving out literature. From the attached video clip, one can pick up part of the conversation due to the “competition” of the rugby match taking place and the vociferous support from the College scholars.

Also, at one point Mr Hackland states that “he is a believer and that he has two Bibles in his office.” If this is the case why was he prepared to prevaricate when it came to “others” sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! In fact, if he does believe upon the One true God Jesus Christ, as also College professes to do with their “Christian-ethos” and the ministry CFC (College For Christ), then why do they not STAND FOR CHRIST? It doesn’t matter what religious men think or whether they are offended by a man carrying a Cross, or not! It comes down to the following TRUTH:

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Later, Christ Jesus was preached from off their premises to those who had ears to hear!

As it says in the Holy Scriptures:

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Here are the lowlights of the day:

Mission Act 1:8 ~ Days 27 and 28 and a PSL Game

Day 27 ~ Saturday March 30, spent today handing out some Gospel tracts at some complexes whilst walking along College Road in Pelham on my way to stand outside the “Centenary Gates” at Maritzburg College High School, who were hosting their 150th Winter Sports Festival for Rugby and Hockey, which is part of the school’s celebration in their 150th year (1863-2013).

Stood at the main gate that all persons – staff, parents, scholars, players and officials had to pass through and was able to hand out many, many “Are You Ready?” Gospel tracts and raise my voice in proclaiming our Lord Jesus Christ on this “Passover weekend”! With security and staff present, our Great God opened the door to share His Son unhindered. A lady parent passing by also commended the preaching and had said that the ministry at the school “Youth for Christ at College” had had 35 boys commit to Christ! About three years ago, I had the opportunity of teaching “The Way of the Master” course in the evenings for some boys on the school premises. We do pray that the fruits of repentance will manifest and that many more College boys will come to faith through Biblical Evangelism!

PSL : Maritzburg United vs. Chippa United ~ Sunday March 31, I attended at the Harry Gwala DSCF2188Stadium to preach our Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified on this “Passover weekend” and hand out Gospel tracts to all the spectators arriving through the South Gate off Alexandra Road for the Premier Soccer League match. Many people heard the Good News of Salvation through Jesus’ sacrificial death, burial and resurrection which was preached to them. Whilst preaching to the souls in line, as the game had commenced and the crowds began to dwindle, I had thought no ticket was forthcoming when Nash from the printers I get my tracts printed at came by with tickets in his hands for him and his friends. I jokingly asked if he had a ticket for me, and he pulls out a brown envelope and pulls out the only ticket therein! And so I took the opportunity of going to the game with my cross – even had a security official help me through the turnstiles holding the cross for me! In the stadium, carrying the cross and separated from Nash and his friends, I made a line for the open-side stands to sit in line with the halfway line, handing out some tracts to police officials in uniform on the way to my seat. A group of African youngsters followed me to sit with me – as this game was being televised live – and it gave me the opportunity to give them tracts and speak to them about Judgment Day and salvation through Christ. I sat with the cross held-up on the seat next to me and during the halftime break the group of youngsters left me, but I ministered to two young Roman Catholic boys behind me, teaching them from the Scriptures to trust in Christ alone and not to rely on the teachings and instructions of the Roman Catholic catechism, but to rely on the Holy Bible as their final authority! Please pray for Lindo and Olwethu.

Day 28 ~ Friday April 5, brother Aziz and I together with my grandson Cee-Jay headed out into the Bombay Heights suburb. Was able to stand outside a carwash and preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified to the washing staff and patrons awaiting their cars to be washed.

We also went to Northdale Hospital as I had heard that a man my son knows had attempted suicide by an overdose of tablets and also tried to gas himself. Despite our checking various wards we were directed all over the hospital and then we were told the man “Joe” was discharged. All information was conflicting, but what materialised was that God our Father opened many other doors that allowed us to minister to patients even praying for them to receive Spiritual healing (medicine). Many Gospel tracts were handed out to patients and medical staff. I also ministered extensively to a very frail young man named Zwane who heard the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was unable to speak, but I asked him to blink his eyes if he understood what I was saying. That is how he communicated with me and he said through his blinking in response to my questioning that he has “repented” and heard the Gospel. Please keep Zwane in prayer for a miracle. On our way out our Father allowed me to preach in a corridor where the acoustics carried my voice between 100-200 meters. Many tracts were handed out as we shared the stories of Jesus Christ healing many people, including the woman with the issue of blood 12-years, and the blind and lame men that Christ healed and them with diverse diseases. Spiritual medicine came to Northdale Hospital. We were even asked at one point to lower our voices, but were never told to stop. Hallelujah, Praise God many sick and sinful people were pointed to our Lord Jesus Christ.

On our way out we were also able to preach at the outpatients’ waiting room and many heard the Truth proclaimed. At one point a Hindu man challenged the preaching of Christ alone saying he is a universalist who has a god who is not a selfish god. The Hindu man said the God of Christianity is a selfish God! He also started making allegations that “our God” allows incest in reference to me preaching that only eight souls were saved when God brought judgment upon the earth with a flood – Noah, his wife, his three sons and their three wives. Well he was shown from the Holy Scriptures that God forbids incest as I started reading from Leviticus 18:1 through 11 when he stopped me saying he gets it. Whilst going off on another tangent and saying that he doesn’t want to follow a selfish God, he walked away as I followed him reading from Exodus 20:4-6 dealing with idolatry and that the One and Only True God is a JEALOUS God! He also turned and said he does not hate God  (in reference to verse 5), but he hates me! He then turned and left through a door leading into the hospital. We pray that his conscience will bear witness against him and that he will have repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ (see Acts 20:21). It was yet another wonderful day worshipping and glorifying our great God!

Day 29 ~ Saturday April 6, brother Aziz and I headed out into the Raisethorpe area and on our cross-walking putting Gospel tracts in post-boxes I was invited into an Indian lady’s home who thought I was selling the cross! Her name is Jane and I found out that Jane had “converted from being a staunch Hindu of 56 years and came to know the True God of Christianity through the death of her son Sasha!” However there were still some things that needed to be addressed – like the idols in her daughter’s home that she shares with her Hindu daughter. From the Holy Scriptures of the Bible a teaching lesson commenced pointing out to this “baby Christian” that idols must go, and setting up “an altar” in remembrance of her deceased son is not what Scripture teaches nor Christ requires from His followers. The practice of lighting a candle in remembrance of her son was also addressed as it has Roman Catholic traits. It was a good time spent teaching Kate from the Scriptures as we dealt with her relationships with her Hindu family members and her Islamic son-in-law. Kate was encouraged to stand for the Truth of our Lord Jesus Christ and not compromise for the faiths or belief systems of her family members. We do pray and thank God for this time of correction and teaching that only our Father could have orchestrated and we pray that Kate will grow by the teachings received and that her family will come to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the ONLY True God!

Mission Act 1:8 ~ Days 24, 25 and 26

Day 24 ~ Wednesday March 27, brother Aziz and I tracted Bombay Heights in Northdale and we encountered much wickedness with Hindus worshipping idol gods. Later back in the greater town centre in Scottsville, I also read from Isaiah 53:1-6 and preached at the gate of the Scottsville Gardens Pre-Primary School to the parents awaiting the collecting of their children which included some Hindus and Muslims. Please pray for all who heard the Way of Salvation!

Later in the evening, went out alone to the Scottsville Mall entrance to hand out tracts and preach Christ Jesus. Had a conversation with a couple named Lionel and Jacqueline. They are looking for a church to attend! We will pray and see what God does with this request. They have also become disillusioned with man-made church!

Day 25 ~ Thursday March 28, brother Aziz and I went and completed the roads on the outskirts DSCF2131of Pietermaritzburg in the Raisethorpe area. It was also the closing of the schools today for the ‘Easter-holidays’ and this afforded us an opportunity to engage some children on the streets which included three young men named Sphamandla, Bruce and Nkosingiphile. Please keep them in prayer for true repentance and faith – they were surely challenged! Whilst we spoke to these three men it also allowed us to wait until 10am when the Northbury Secondary School closed and standing on the tailgate of the Ford ‘Seed-sower’, using it as a pulpit, I preached Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Small groups of children gathered round to listen to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and the neighbouring houses across the road with their Hindu flags got to hear that their idols cannot save anyone! Please pray for the souls who heard the Truth that God would save them.

In the early evening, my wife Tammy and Cee-Jay joined me at the Scottsville Mall entrance to hand out Gospel tracts as the Gospel of Jesus Christ was shared with a crowd who had gathered after I used the slight-of-hand “red-light-thumbs” to draw a crowd. Had a conversation also with a car-guard named Sibusiso (“Blessing”) – I implored him to get right with God as he said he had believed before, but he has a drinking habit now!

Day 26 ~ Friday March 29, headed out today to cross-walk some roads in Pelham with my wife Tammy and Cee-Jay. They were up ahead of me resting as I had taken to another part of Christie Road when I had a situation where a dog came through a fence and the owner kept saying a ‘command-word’ that had the dog barking and lunging at me. Rebuking the dog kept him at bay three times, then I rebuked the owner calling out: “Stop setting your dog on me you pagan!” No response from him as our gracious God delivered me safely from that situation.

Please also check out the photograph journal by clicking the photo hereunder and do join us in praying for the souls reached that they will come to repentance and faith in our great God Jesus Christ the Righteous.
