12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. ~ Acts 4:12
This praise report is solely for GOD’s glory alone and that no attention be directed our-way! “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). On Wednesday 2nd November 2016, Jono and Gary attended at the PSL football match between Maritzburg United and Highlands Park “Lions of the North” that took place at the Harry Gwala Stadium. We arrived about 17H45.
After praying in our car, we went and set up and was approached by a young couple who said they are “brother-and-sister-in-Christ” when asked if they were boyfriend and girlfriend. It was also established that they attend a ‘Zion church’. It would appear to be an African Traditional ‘church’. Leaving nothing to chance, Gary engaged them with the Ten Commandments and established that whilst this couple said they do not participate in ancestral prayers and worship, there are those in their ‘church’ who do exactly that.
We asked them if proper Church discipline is undertaken by their ‘church’, and if so, the Pastor needs to discipline the ancestral worshipping perpetrators and put them out of their ‘church’. The congregation must not be mixed up with the Holy and the profane,
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? ~ 2 Corinthians 6:14,15
We also opened GOD’s Word showing them in Deuteronomy that believers are not to consult the dead in necromancy,
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. ~ Deuteronomy 18:10,115 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; ~ 1 Timothy 2:5
Ancestral prayers and worship is a vile abomination against the Creator YEHOVAH. It is a scourge in and amongst the African Traditional ‘churches’ and also a wicked evil that has crept into ‘so-called protestant churches’, too. This evil must be repented of toward GOD – penduka.
When the couple left us to enter the stadium, we continued our ministry outreach. There was not a huge crowd for this football match, but still many, many Gospel tracts went out. We were also encouraged to be thanked for our proclaiming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We were also given a free complimentary ticket by an Indian spectator who was entering the stadium to attend the game. So we decided to buy another ticket to watch the match, as Jono had never attended a live football match before. It was an ‘eye-opener’ to see what takes place in a soccer-temple!
Kindly keep us in prayer for our next PSL football outreach, Lord willing, at the Harry Gwala Stadium’s South Gate, being on Tuesday evening 29th November, 2016 from 17:30 – 19:30
