Mission Act 1:8 ~ Day 44

SCOTTSVILLE

Wednesday 20, 2015 – Jono, Marius and Gary continued in the Scottsville area, between the UKZN campus and Alan Paton Avenue. It is also the neighbourhood where Jono resides.

Whilst we handed Gospel tracts to approximately 166 persons – a vast majority being UKZN students followed by municipal workers – only very brief conversations were had. The day was a trying day, it just did not seem to want to “click-into-gear”, so to speak! The devils were clearly hindering the Gospel work. It was very evident in Pepworth Road when Gary approached an elderly European lady who was waiting at her gate. When offered some Gospel literature she said very abruptly: “What is it? Is it religious?” When an answer was given to her that it is Gospel material concerning our Lord Jesus Christ, she retorted: “I have my religion!” On asking her what religion it was, in a harsh tone she came back at Gary and said it was none of his business to which he calmly responded, “I was only asking nothing else.” This lady almost spat out “I am Roman Catholic!” to which was the response, “If Roman Catholics speak to people like this, I would consider leaving that church.” While Gary crossed the road to speak to an African lady, the European lady had departed in a car and so Marius retraced his steps and placed some Gospel literature in her post-box. Pray that this Roman Catholic lady will be humbled by the Gospel material placed in her post-box.

The day’s routes were:

Stage 1:- Roseveare – Chapman – Pepworth – Ridge – Alan Paton – Dorset – Chapman – Lymbrook – Carbis – Chapman – Carbis – Ridge – Roseveare.

Stage 2:- Hutchinson – Epworth – Shores – Carbis (between Faculty of Agriculture and Lymbrook).
