Team Paraguay come to Town

NEWSFLASHParaguay land in Pietermaritzburg. The Paraguay National Team is based in the uMgungundlovu District Municipality – in other words the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands region – and they are are coming to Town, i.e. Pietermaritzburg.

This is another opportunity for evangelists to reach the lost, both locals and visitors, by having one-2-one witnessing conversations, tract distribution [Note – we do not have Spanish tracts so be careful when handing out tracts of another nationality (Soccer caricature variety) in case recipients are offended due to their patriotism – let us not offend unnecessary, the Gospel is already offensive to the unbeliever] and hopefully the open-air proclamation of the Gospel of Truth.

An advertisement that appeared in The Natal Witness newspaper has the following schedule planned for this weekend:

Citizens of the District are invited to attend the following events with Team Paraguay

05 JUNE 2010 : 08H00 – 11H00 – SOCCER CLINIC

05 JUNE 2010 : 11H00 – 13H00 – STREET CARNIVAL FROM ALEXANDRA ROAD TO HARRY GWALA STADIUM

05 JUNE 2010 : 14H15 – BAFANA BAFANA vs. DENMARK – LIVE ON BIG SCREEN

05 JUNE 2010 : 15H30 – UNDER 20 uMGUNGUNDLOVU vs. UNDER 20 PARAGUAY

06 JUNE 2010 : 14H00 – PREMIER XI vs. PARAGUAY MEDIA XI

06 JUNE 2010 : 15H00 – TEAM PARAGUAY PRACTICE GAME

Here is some information in respect of the Religion practiced in Paraguay as it appears at Wikipedia –

Religion – Main article: Religion in Paraguay

According to the 2002 census, 89.6% of the population is Roman Catholic, 6.2% is evangelical Christian, 1.1% is other Christian, 0.6% practice indigenous religions.

A U.S. State Department report on Religious Freedom names Catholic, evangelical Christian, mainline Protestant, Jewish (Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform), Mormon, and Baha’i as prominent religious groups and also mentions a large Muslim community in Alto Paraná as a result of Middle-Eastern immigration, especially from Lebanon, and also the Mennonite community in Boquerón.[25]

This is another opportunity our Gracious Lord Jesus Christ has presented to us to Go and reach the lost – in our obedience Jesus will Glorify the Father and the Father will Glorify His Son, and the Holy Spirit will also be Glorified and Worshipped by our availability. Let His power work through us.

To God be the Glory!
